World's Best Museum for Mahatma Gandhi
- Esteblished soon after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on the fateful evening of January 30, 1948
- In early 1951 shifted to Government hutments adjoining Kota House ,Delhi.
- In mid-1957, it was shifted to the picturesque old mansion at 5, Mansingh Road,Delhi
- In 1959 It was finally brought to its present new and permanent home, most appropriately built opposite the SAMADHI of Mahatma Gandhi – at Rajghat, New Delhi.

The last admission time is thirty minutes before closing.
The museum is open on all public holidays.
Tips for Visiting
- Larger items must be checked in to lockers or the cloakroom
- We welcome wheelchairs and baby strollers in the galleries.
- Ensure the flash is turned off when taking photos. Video recording is only permitted when specified. Professional photography or videography for commercial use must be arranged in advance.
- Please be respectful to all staff and other visitors.
- Smoking, including the consumption of e-cigarettes, is restricted.
- Please help us take care of the objects on view in the museum. Do not touch the works on display unless otherwise specified. Maintain a safe distance from all works, cases, platforms, and pedestals.
- With the exception of service dogs, animals are not permitted in the museum.
